@Moweezle I wonder how they are going to work around the favelas and the drug lords. It's such a big part of the city right now.

I visit Rio about 10 years ago and loved the people and the beautiful land, but crime was always at the top of my mind. I hope the attention the Olympics will bring the city will help fix the problem

Absolutely!!! I lived in Rio for 5 years and I was also soooo happy to see it win the bid. But, at the same time I thought of the same things you mentioned here. I worked in the favelas for much of my time there, and I agree its basically being run by the drug lords….
